history

Before it was Serendipity Racquet Club, the tennis center and facilities were part of the Country Club of Sarasota, the neighborhood in which it is located.  In 2001, The Country Club Tennis Center became Serendipity, when Gerd Petrik became the owner, which he remains to the present.  Mr. Petrik currently resides with his wife in Switzerland, entrusting the management of the club to his older daughter, Sharon.

The club has undergone many changes over the years, the most significant being a large renovation in 2006 that moved Serendipity Fit to a new location upstairs, to the area that was formerly used for special events and banquets.
